Nature and You

Ever wonder where the ideas for inventions come from? How something like Velcro came to be or why you can read some computer screens in the sun and not others? The answer is closer than you think. Biomimicry is the study of nature for new ideas on how to solve human problems.

For example Velcro came about by studying burrs and how they stuck to fur and other materials. Being able to read a screen in the sun comes from looking at how light is reflected off butterfly wings.

Biomimicry even helped created the animus. By studying birds and how they migrate we were able to discover the ability of recalling ancestral memories to relive historical events. The next time you go outside, Abstergo wants you to remember that what you’re looking at might be the next great invention.

Animus Fixes and Updates

Recently, an update has been made to the Animus. Here is the change log:

– Added a system to make the Animus accessible for more hours
– Added a new security system, viruses have now been “run-over” [ERUDITO]
– Interface made more accessible and simpler
– Animus functionality increased. Less probability to have connection problems to your memories and misplaced desynchronizations. Less mixed up timeline problems.

Thank you for reporting all the problems you’ve found in the Animus and all our other products.

Antibiotic Resistance and the Animus

With the announcement of a-OS 4.0, Abstergo has been fielding a number of questions from the public, but the most common is why a company with a main focus on pharmaceutical development needs to explore the past in such great detail with the Animus.

Abstergo is committed to solving the toughest riddles in the medical community, with the most critical focus on eliminating antibiotic-resistant bacteria and super viruses.  We know that rapid DNA mutations within these types of bacteria and viruses are what cause them to be resistant to pharmaceutical treatment, and that finding a way to stop these mutations from occurring will be the key to eliminating them.  Our scientists believe that uncovering the source of a particular virus and tracking its progress throughout history will allow us to map its mutations and discover a pattern or common occurrence.  By tracking more than one at a time, we can see if there is a similar pattern that spreads across all mutations.  With the Animus, not only can we truly see history as it unfolds, but also retrieve accurate, first-hand data of the progress of human diseases.

Abstergo’s ultimate goal, however, is to develop a nanobot that can be administered to a patient orally in a pill.  Once in the patient’s system, it will be able to identify, track, study, and destroy any infection from a common cold to cancer!

New Animus Program

Thanks to our engineers’ work with Project Legacy and the DDS, Abstergo is about ready to venture into a new area of simulation with the Animus.  After almost 20 years of studying users in the Animus and compiling DNA memory, there is enough information to start forming simulations of alternative history.

Alternative history or “Uchronia” refers to a work of fiction regarding the timeline of our world if an important historical event had occurred or ended differently.

Perhaps it is better explained in an example.  Within the first months of 2013, Abstergo will be releasing an add-on program for the Animus that will allow the user to live in a time when checks and balances fail in the newly formed United States of America.  Instead of adopting a democratic presidency, George Washington names himself King of the newborn nation and imposes a tyrannical, power-drunk rule.

The Tyranny of King Washington will be the first of what we hope will be a series of add-ons with more to follow.  Just another way for you to Enjoy Your Animus!

Announcement of Death

May Dr. Vidic rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that Abstergo announces the death of one of its most influential employees, Dr. Warren Vidic.  Dr. Vidic’s body was found in his office at our facility in Rome early this morning.  Cause of death is under investigation, pending an autopsy by officials.

Dr. Vidic has been with Abstergo for the past 35 years and has been a key player in many of Abstergo’s advancements in biotechnology.  Dr. Vidic was the head of the department that spearheaded the entire Animus project, which is quite possibly Abstergo’s most famous product.  Though he is gone, his legacy will live on with the various Animus projects he helped develop.

We will keep you updated with funeral information.  We thank you for your continued support during this sad time.
